U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps and U.S. Navy League Cadet Corps

According to the Navy. recruits will be required to quote any one of, or all of the Eleven General Orders of a Sentry from memory anytime, anywhere and to anyone, by the fifth day of the first week of training. It is best that to learn the Eleven General Orders of a Sentry prior to departure for Recruit Training. This will give a new recruit an advantage and will provide some valuable time to perform additional required items your first few days in boot camp.
We all know that the military do things differently than civilians. And here in the Sea Cadets we follow military traditions. Such being the case, all cadets must be able to tell time in the military manner.
Some information is specific to the
Navy League.
The purpose of dress and appearance standards is to create uniformity across the service, good order, discipline and among other things, help instill a sense of military pride and improve public trust in the U.S. Armed Forces. Cadets will care for and wear their uniforms with pride.
The military services have a long history. Many traditions have been established as a result of this long history. If you are familiar with some of these traditions, you will understand the military better. These traditions can be broken down into various customs and courtesies.
The Sailor's Creed is one of those
Navy Traditions followed here. Cadets
are required to learn it
